Plantilla:Infobox Episode Plantilla:SG1-3 Plantilla:Part2 "Into the Fire" is the season three premiere of Stargate SG-1.

While Captain Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson try to escape from Eskal, O'Neill is implanted with a Goa'uld. Teal'c, who left Stargate Command, seeks help on Chulak to assist SG-1. There he has an unexpected volunteer, Major General George S. Hammond.

Previously on Stargate SG-1Editar

Colonel Jack O'Neill, Major Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson are captured by the Goa'uld and told that they are in Stargate Command and the year is 2077. The Goa'uld use a Memory recall device to gain information on the state of the Goa'uld Empire. After recovering from his injuries, Teal'c leaves the SGC and returns to Chulak to recruit Jaffa willing to help rescue the rest of his team. O'Neill discovers the truth and escapes to free the other two. They are later surrounded by Jaffa and Hathor reveals herself as the culprit and plans to use one of them as host for a symbiote.

Colonel Robert Makepeace returns to inform Major General George S. Hammond that the Tok'ra have found SG-1. Hammond sends SG-teams 3, 5, 6 and 11 to find them.

Into The Fire 01

SG units are deployed to rescue SG-1.

In the mock-up Stargate Command, Hathor ponders which member of SG-1 should be a new host. The mature symbiote chooses Colonel Jack O'Neill, but before she could implant the symbiote, Jack attacks and is shot with a Zat'nik'tel by Dr. Raully. In the stasis chamber, Hathor implants the symbiote and tells O'Neill that once it takes control, he'll swear loyalty to her. Suddenly, gunfire is heard and Hathor commands the Jaffa head to find the source. The Raully reveals herself as a Tok'ra and puts Jack in stasis to kill the symbiote. Hathor finds out and uses her Kara kesh to throw the Tok'ra against the wall.

Makepeace and his men free Captain Samantha Carter and Dr. Daniel Jackson, but soon get a message from the men at the Stargate: They have been ambushed. Carter, unaware that a Tok'ra spy has helped Jack, informs Makepeace that O'Neill is now a host. Makepeace declares Jack a casualty and they head to the gate. When they get there, the gate is guarded by Jaffa, a forcefield and staff cannon towers. A cannon blast from one of the towers punches a hole in the ground as Makepeace dives for cover. Noticing a strange blue glow emanating from the hole, he looks inside to find a network of Tok'ra tunnels created by the spy as a means of entering and exiting the compound unseen. They are forced to retreat to the Tok'ra tunnels where they attempt to find a way under the shield, but discover it extends underground and they cannot pass.

Meanwhile, Hammond contacts them for an update because they are now behind schedule. As he lets the teams know he will send reinforcements, he scans the area with the MALP. Trofsky fires at it with his zat and disables it. Because of the sheer size of the forcefield, Carter deduces there must be a massive generator nearby. She takes with her a device to detect energy readings and heads back to the fake SGC to shut down the power to the shield.

On Chulak, Teal'c finds Bra'tac left for dead. After helping Bra'tac, he summons nearby Jaffa together to speak with them. He announces to the Jaffa that the Goa'uld are false gods and asks for help in fighting alongside the Tau'ri. Only a few Jaffa and Bra'tac remain to join the fight, but it is revealed that Hammond has tagged along because the President of the United States refused to risk any more lives to save SG-1. He went to Chulak to find Teal'c, to ask for reinforcements and to help out himself. Bra'tac leads them to a now derelict Needle Threader hidden nearby many years ago.

Makepeace, Daniel, and everyone else still hiding in the Tok'ra tunnels are captured by the Jaffa. In the Goa'uld compound, Carter finds Raully and revives O'Neill, but is attacked by Hathor. O'Neill manages to throw Hathor into the stasis chamber unprotected, which kills her. Rually tells them where the power generator for the shield is. They arrive in the fake gate room and Jack flips a switch, revealing the generator.

At the gate, O'Neill confronts the Jaffa, first pretending to be a Goa'uld, then telling them that Hathor is dead. They refuse to believe him. Sam blows the generator at the last minute. Suddenly, the gate activates and a Needle Threader (flown by Teal'c and Hammond), Bra'tac and rebel Jaffa came through. Trofsky is finally killed by Bra'tac and the two staff cannon emplacements are destroyed by Hammond and Teal'c. Once all of Hathor's Jaffa were taken care of, SG-1 returns home.

Notable QuotesEditar

Jaffa woman: I know you! Sholva! You dare return to Chulak.
Teal'c: The people of this world are my brothers and sisters. I have betrayed no one.
Jaffa woman: Except your god.
Teal'c: False god. Dead false god.

Teal'c: The Goa'uld are not gods.
Crowd: Shol'va.
Teal'c: It is a lie we live each day. Only when he takes a host does a Goa'uld become strong. Even then, only as strong as the Jaffa that serve him. With out us, the Goa'uld are nothing.
Crowd: Lies.
Teal'c: We are their strength. We are their power. Until we choose to serve them no more. I was witness to the final breath of Apophis. I watched him tremble with fear at what lay beyond. I believed that day would be honored for all time on Chulak. But instead, I see Jaffa taking up arms against one another. I see cowardice and I am ashamed. This is our time. It will not come again. But first we must grow stronger, as the people of the Tau'ri have done. I call for warriors to join me through the chapai'ai, to gather weapons, to forge alliances with other Jaffa who seek freedom. To show the Goa'uld we will do battle with them wherever they may be. Who will join me?

Makepeace: How's the leg? Can you walk?
Jackson: It's just a deep bleeding gash, but it'll be fine.

O'Neill: Jaffa, kree!
Trofsky: Kel ma Goa'uld? Kritock.
O'Neill: You heard me, I said kree!"
Jackson: Jack?
O'Neill: Hey, guys. Makepeace, nice rescue. Good job.
Trofsky: Silence!
O'Neill: Alright, listen up. There's something you should know before you start shootin' and killin' and ruinin' what could be the start of a beautiful friendship. Our beloved Hathor is dead.
Trofsky: What you say is impossible. Hathor is a queen. More than that, she is a goddess!
O'Neill: Yeah, okay, ex-goddes, maybe. I killed her myself. You should trust me on this. She's gone. She is no more, she is...well, let's face it, she's a former queen.
Trofsky: We will put an end to this with your surrender.

Teal'c: Firing the weapon will be your responsibility, General Hammond.
Hammond: Understood. What exactly did you mean by threading the needle?
Teal'c: Observe. (Teal'c flies them through the Stargate) Fire.
(Hammond blasts the tower)
Hammond: Yeeeee hah!

  • When the SG teams are firing at the Jaffa behind the force field, the fluctuations where the bullets hit are clearly visible. The bullets strike at various points all across the force field, many of them nowhere near the target. Also at one point, one of the SG soldiers fires their automatic weapon at a 45 degree angle right in front of the camera. At that angle so close to the gate, the bullets would actually fly right over the gate, well over the heads of anyone in front of it.
  • Teal'c claims that he witnessed Apophis' final breath in "Serpent's Song". However, he was in the Stargate Operations room at the moment of Apophis' death. (possibly not a goof as he may have stated this for its effect rather than its truth)
  • When General Hammond met SG-1 at the end, it seems strange that he was not saluted. However, this could have been due to shock at his appearance.
  • When General Hammond and Teal'c is about to fly through the Stargate, you can easily see the Jaffa guards with weapons at the ready but just standing there despite the SG soldiers being completely vulnerable.
